Dolce Vita Rose and freesias

Dolce Vita, a lovely rose, was the centre of Jen's wedding flowers at the beginning of June.

The bridesmaids dresses were a 3/4 length floaty style dress in blue, but Jen didn't want to have blue flowers as this would have made the overall effect quite cool for a summer wedding. By chance when she called in we had some gorgeous two tone, pink and white roses in that she loved. These were to take centre stage, flower wise.

The brides bouquet, a tear-drop shape, had Dolce Vita roses, white freesia and ruscus.
The three bridesmaids all carried a gorgeous hand-tie posy of Dolce Vita roses and ruscus, tied together with a pink satin bow.
The mums wore a simple corsage of a Dolce vita rose with white freesia flowers.
The groom and his men each wore a single white buttonhole.

Large Martini vases at Rufford Mill

Claire's wedding and reception was to be held at the gorgeous Rufford Mill at Rufford Country Park.

The table centres chosen for the eight tables were the large martini vases filled with flowers in pinks and clarets. These included Stargazer lilies, Grandprix roses, Amaranthus and carnations with mixed foliage. The 'vase' part of the glass was also coloured to add to the dramatic design.
The Talbot suite is used for the ceremony and reception, being 'turned around' during the photos. As such we were unable to set up the tables and so we asked Yvonne, the seriously good wedding planner, if we could place some of the vases at the back of the room to decorate the entrance for the ceremony.
There was enough room for six, three each side. They looked stunning. The table was there for the cake.

Lily and rose wedding flowers

Claire's wedding flowers from 28 May.

As someone who is involved with the wedding industry Claire had an idea on the look she wanted for her day. Her colour scheme was Claret/wine and cream with a modern feel to the day.

Claire chose a modern shower bouquet with cream Asiatic lilies, claret alstroemeria and bear grass loops. This is a light design, traditionally wired throughout, with no extra foliage.
Claire also asked for a small bouquet that she could use for 'throwing the bouquet' so she could keep hers safe. For this I used 3 lily flower heads and alstroemeria with bear grass loops to keep in with the bridal bouquet design.
The three adult bridesmaids each carried a hand-tie design of matching cream Asiatic lilies with pale pink roses to complement their dresses. The stems were bound with cream satin ribbon.
The smaller bridesmaid carried a similar bouquet to the others.
The groom and his men each wore a buttonhole of a pale pink rose, to match the bridesmaids, with an alstroemeria to match the brides bouquet.
The other guests wore a single pale pink rose buttonhole.
The Mother of the bride had a handbag corsage of a claret calla lily with ivory roses and feathers.

Burgundy and white wedding flowers

Tracey's wedding flowers from May.

The colour scheme was burgundy and white and Tracey chose our most popular tear-drop bouquet of passion roses and white freesia.
Her flower-girls each carried a gorgeous cream teddy bear with his own passion rose buttonhole.
The grooms buttonhole mirrored his brides bouquet of a passion rose and freesia flowers with ruscus foliage.
The grooms-men each wore a single rose buttonhole.
The mothers each wore a corsage of a single red rose, freesia flowers and sprigs of gyp.

Purple, lilac and ivory wedding flowers

Sue's wedding from May.

The colour scheme was purples, lilacs and ivory. Sue chose a hand-tied design with a silver aluminium wire collar with added beads. The flowers were Ivory roses, Eryngium, purple freesia and eustoma and gyp. The stems were bound with lilac satin ribbon.
The grooms-men each wore a single ivory rose with eryngium.
The ladies each had a single ivory rose with freesia, eryngium and gyp corsage.
The reception was held at Jocastas and we supplied the top table design. It was a traditional long and low with purple eustoma, freesia, eryngium, ivory roses and gyp with assorted foliage.

Oriental lily and rose wedding

Katie and Jamie's wedding from May.

The bride wanted to incorporate oriental lilies into her bouquet, but wanted to keep it quite neat. The bouquet I designed had the lilies as the focal flower with white roses used to add length and shape to the design. Baby blue eucalyptus also added shape and interest. The scent of this bouquet was gorgeous.
Katie's four bridesmaids all carried a simple design of 3 lily heads wired together with baby blue eucalyptus. The stems were covered with ivory satin ribbon.
The grooms men all wore buttonholes of a single white rose with baby blue eucalyptus.
The two mums wore corsages of white roses and freesia.

Ivory and pale pink roses

Mary's wedding from 14th May.

Mary decided to carry a hand-tie design of roses, gyp and foliage. We used ivory and very pale pink roses to add some warmth. The tree fern and gyp softened the design with salal leaves forming a collar. The stems are covered in foliage and finished off with a thin satin ribbon wound decoratively around.
The five bridesmaids all carried a similar but smaller design to compliment their brown dresses and silver accessories.
The Mother of the bride wore a corsage of ivory roses, spray roses, gyp and tree fern.
The grooms-men all wore a single ivory rose buttonhole.

Washingborough Hall

A customer we have known for many years was married back in April. It was to be a small, intimate gathering at Washingborough Hall Hotel.

The colours for the day were blue and cream with lilies being a favourite flower. The style chosen for the bridal bouquet was a simple shower bouquet with Royal Fantasy aziatic lilies and blue hyacinth pips.
The buttonholes were ivory roses with hyacinth pips and the corsage incorporated lily buds and rolled rose petals.
The tables each had a posy of lilies, roses, hyacinths and chrysants.

Funeral Tributes

Here are some of the funeral designs we have created in the last few months,

GRANDMA. On a 7 letter frame you generally have 4 small spays of flowers.
Another Open Book, this time white basing and yellow spays and ribbon edging.

A wreath for 'Workers Memorial Day'. It was on display in the Cornhill in Lincoln.
