St Helen's Brant Broughton

Johanna and Rich were married on 17 Th September 2011 at St Helen's Church Brant Broughton.

A family friend arranged the bridal flowers and I was asked to provide the church and reception flowers.

We arrived early morning to set up the church, in between sun and showers. While the sun shone the church was flooded with light.

The theme of the day was lilies. A lovely variety that has a cream stripe in the centre of every petal.

The pews have all been taken out and replaced with chairs. Johanna had asked for 10 rows to be alternately dressed with lilies and roses and cream ribbon.
We had made sure that most of the lilies were open, so the church was filled with scent.

Instead of two pedestals at the Altar the couple decided it would make a change to decorate the Rood screen. This was designed using open lilies and seasonal hops to add to the fragrance.

A pedestal also adorned the Altar. This consisted of lilies, roses, gladioli, and carnations all in white and creams.
Another pedestal was positioned by the entrance.
Each of the back four windowsills were also treated to a display of lilies and hops.

The entrance porch wasn't left out and had its own display of lilies.
The gate posts each had a posy of lilies and alstroemeria adorning the top.

Charlotte House Hotel Civil Service

Jo's wedding was held at Charlotte House Hotel. The ceremony was in the Library.

The civil ceremony table arrangement, which was later to be moved to the top table, was a mixture of ivory and purple flowers. Included were 'picasso' calla lilies, eustoma, alstroemeria and roses.
The matching pedestals framed the ceremony table perfectly.

St John the Baptist Scampton

Lynn and Daniel were married at St John the Baptist church at Scampton village.They requested a church pedestal which included blue hydrangeas, yellow roses and alstroemeria and white lily and gladioli.
The pew ends were decorated with alternating bows of blue and white.
The pedestal would later be taken up to the reception venue.

Pride of Lincoln

Elise's wedding was held entirely at The Pride of Lincoln. This is the set up for the civil ceremony and then changed around for the reception.

We were asked to provide two pedestals for behind the registrars table which would be moved and used either side of the top table.
The colour scheme was red and white and I used red lily, carnations and white carnations, alstroemeria and stallion chrysants.

We also provide a couple of vases of flowers for the cake table.

Charlotte House

Natalie's wedding ceremony and reception were both held at Charlotte House.

The civil ceremony was held in The Drawing Room where we were asked to provide a pedestal in creams and whites for behind the registrars table. This would be later moved to The Orangery for the meal.

The flowers were lilies, eustoma, roses, alstroemeria, germinis and stallion chrysants, with various foliage.
As this was an intimate gathering with a single table, a large table centre was required. We designed this in similar flowers to the pedestal.

St Peter-at-Gowts

St Peter-at-Gowts church was the venue for Zoey's wedding on Saturday. We were asked to use flowers to match her colours, blue and white, and to use roses on the pew ends, but other than that it was up to us.

For the pedestal we used some gorgeous blue delphiniums and agapanthus and white carnations, alstoemeria, chrysants and gyp with various foliage.
The aisle was dressed to halfway as this was a smallish wedding compared to the size of the church.
An individual pew end. A simple yet very effective way of dressing the pews. 3 White Avalanche roses with bear grass tied together with a white organza bow, attached to the pew with royal blue ribbon.
The porchway had a modern pedestal design of tall blue delphinium, agapanthus, white carnations and button chrysants. Aspidistra leaves and fatsia leaves with green sisal finish off the design. All arranged on one of our new tall vases.
The door way to the church already looked very pretty with tubs of summer bedding plants but to add some height we added 2 of our baytrees either side of the door.
All these items were transferred to the Pyewipe for the reception.

Ideas for Table/Floor displays

A couple of new ideas for Table/Floor displays.

Our very large martini vase filled with blue coloured gravel. In amongst this are 3 yellow gerberas to add a splash of colour with a co-ordinating candle on top. Colours can be altered to your colour scheme depending on availability.
A large wood effect container which can stand up to 5 foot high dependant on flowers used. Have this as a budget alternative to a full pedestal or as an added extra for a church porch way or entrance lobby.

Colours and flowers can be altered to fit in with your flower scheme. We already have an order for a church porch way in a few weeks.... watch this blog for pictures.

In this arrangement are white oriental lilies, gerberas and stocks with aspidistra leaves.

Washingborough Hall

The civil service flowers from Morog's wedding on Saturday.

The registrars table display was a mix of red and white/ivory flowers. Gerberas, carnations, eustoma, alstroemeria, and delianne were included with a mixture of foliage.
On the registrars table. It would also be transferred to the top table for the reception.
In either corner in the ceremony room there is a stone pedestal ideal for having a large arrangement displayed. Again these are a combination of reds/whites and creams. Gerberas, carnations, anastasia, eustoma, and delianne with foliage.

The guest tables were of large martini vases which we hired, filled with florist gel and made to look like giant glasses of martini. We wanted a quick photo but a member of the bridal party was in charge of filling them and they wasn't ready when we left.

St Peter at Gowts Church

St Peter-at-Gowts Church.

A wonderful church to decorate with plenty of room to display pedestals. Only drawback is they have to be large otherwise you won't see them at the altar from the back.

They consisted mainly of pink gerberas, with pink broom, carnations and misumata branches.

We displayed one pedestal in the porchway for impact when guests arrived and one at the front of the church on the grooms side.

As the budget was getting tight it was agreed that the two front and two back pews had a simple arrangement of 3 pink gerberas and wax flower and the rest had bows alternating down the aisle.

A debate had gone on as to whether we and the bride would be allowed to have flowers in church as it was still in Lent, but the Vicar on this occassion agreed as long as they were moved immediately afterwards. All arrangements were moved down to The Pride of Lincoln for the reception.
